MCCS Adult Sports offers athletes the opportunity to compete in unit level athletic competition. Competition is seasonal and is for baseball, basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, tackle and flag football, and cross country races. Varsity Sports are offered as capability allows to athletes who have demonstrated the ability to compete at a higher level of competition. The MCCS Community Center has a cardio room with state-of-art equipment. This room is available to patrons 18 years and older. There is a rowing machine, ellipticals, an arc trainer and treadmills. We also have a kids room located in the cardio room as an option for the parents so they can watch their kids while they work out. Kids room rules are as follows: no food or drinks other than water due to allergies, diapers are to be changed in the facility bathrooms and parents must supervise and clean up after the children before leaving the room.

The Community Counseling Center offers important, in-depth services to individuals, couples, children and teens facing non-medical issues. Our primary focus is to educate these individuals on how best to address significant life issues in their earliest stages, before they escalate into major, more serious problems.

The Community Counseling Center clinicians are fully prepared to help individuals attain a proper balance in their lives, providing them with different, proven methods on how to deal with the various stressful factors facing them. This includes counseling to address interpersonal relationships, marital problems, stress management, adjustment issues (such as those related to returning home from a deployment), parenting skills, as well as grief and loss situations. When individuals are feeling particularly distressed, our Community Counseling Center clinicians can help them with the tools they need to better deal with their personal issues, before they put themselves, their friends, or family members at risk.

The Education Center is the recommended first stop before pursuing any form of higher education. The facility offers education services, counseling and advising, test proctoring and remedial skills training in math, english and reading. Marines and Sailors on active duty may apply for military Tuition Assistance (TA) to pay for college tuition and fees.

The Education Center administers military classification testing (ASVAB, DLAB and DLPT) and online testing offered by Air Force Institute of Advance Distance Learning (AFIADL). The Education Center offers no-cost proctoring services for those completing distance learning, as well as more than 200 national certifications and state licensing examinations through its Pearson VUE testing center. The Marine Corps Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory program designed to coordinate Permanent Change of Station (PCS) assignments for active duty sponsors who have dependent family members with qualifying medical or educational needs. EFMP PCS assignment coordination ensures the availability and accessibility of necessary medical and educational services for these family members at the assigned duty location. A family case worker is assigned to each family to help with relocation assistance, respite care reimbursement, support at Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings, resources, referrals and more. Additionally, enrolled families have access to an EFMP attorney and may qualify for special housing considerations. Common qualifying conditions of EFMP families include asthma, autism, cancer, diabetes, IEP, mental health, migraines and speech therapy.

Families Over Coming Under Stress (FOCUS) provides resiliency training to service members and their families. FOCUS teaches practical skills to help families and couples meet the challenges of military life, including how to communicate and solve problems effectively and to successfully set goals together.

Based on more than 20 years of research, FOCUS has been designed especially for military families and couples. The program uses a series of unique tools to help all members of the family create a shared family story. Families who participate in FOCUS experience a renewed sense of confidence by recognizing their strengths, and then building on them.

In addition to individual family training, FOCUS also offers workshops to units upon request.

FOCUS services are available for active duty service members and their family or partner via the TeleFOCUS program, allowing families and couples to meet with a FOCUS Provider through video conference.

FOCUS sessions allow families and couples to build their own story about military life experience.

This helps them to:

• Feel closer and more supported.
• Identify, manage, and discuss emotions.
• Use problem-solving and goal-setting to empower the whole family.

The Family Advocacy Program (FAP) assists commanders, and service members and their families by providing prevention services aimed at stress reduction, improved marital communications and parenting skills. FAP also offers clinical counseling for couples and families who have conditions that increase the risk for abuse. When intimate partner violence or child abuse has already occurred, FAP offers victim advocate services to provide support for victims of abuse, and interventions to help reduce the risk for repeated incidents.

FCC offers in-home childcare in a loving home environment located in government quarters for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Care is provided in small group settings at homes both on and off base. All providers are trained and licensed to operate quality developmental childcare programs in their homes. FCC homes are inspected monthly and must meet the standards outlined in Marine Corps Order 1710.30. FCC can be utilized for full day, part day, deployment and hourly care. FCC also offers in-home care for special needs children.

The newly constructed Inns of the Corps Mountain View, is a 76-room facility that provides clean, crisp and comfortable lodging for active duty and retired military, DoD civilians and those on PCS and TAD orders. Everything from carpet and tile, to cabinetry and kitchen appliances, to lighting, curtains and bedding has been recently updated to the Inns of the Corps Brand Standards.

The Inns of the Corps Mountain View features an onsite fitness room, business center, training and conference area, catering to a family atmosphere, including barbecue grill locations and plenty of space for families to spread out and enjoy themselves. The Inn also provides a laundromat, vending area, micro market, lobby seating and bar with room to read or watch TV.

The Inn is conveniently located within walking distance to resources on base such as the Commissary, MCX Marine Mart, MCX Home Store, Child Development Centers, Youth Center, Family Pool and Carl’s Jr. The Inn is staffed 24 hours a day and a delicious hot breakfast is served every morning in a dining room overlooking the beautiful patio. The breakfast hours are 6 to 9 a.m. Monday - Friday and 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Family Advocacy Program's Prevention and Education team (P&E) focuses on the prevention of child abuse and intimate partner violence. P&E offers evidence based workshops and courses to assist service members and their families in developing skills to effectively manage high risk situations that could lead to family violence.

Prevention & Relationship Enhancement Program (P.R.E.P.) is a skills training program established by Dr. Howard J. Markman of the University of Denver Center of Marital and Family Studies. It teaches married or engaged couples communication skills and ground rules for handling conflict and promoting intimacy. The program's aim is to prevent future marital problems including violence and divorce.

P.R.E.P. offers a fresh approach. The workshop and the materials teach couples the skills they need to nurture a lasting love. Couples spend most of their time in special discussions or practicing skills. Key topics include expectations, commitment, fun, forgiveness, friendship, feeling understood and sensuality.

P.R.E.P. is NOT therapy. No encounter group or sharing of personal concerns, simply thrilling insights into a more loving and growth filled relationship.

P.R.E.P. begins with teaching effective communication skills, then addresses problem resolution strategies that work, how to discover the hidden issues in every relationship and then move into forgiveness, fun, friendship and sensuality.

The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program is dedicated to eliminating sexual assault within the Marine Corps and providing continuity of care for victims of sexual assault through effective education, policy, and program support. The Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARCs) aboard the Combat Center are responsible for providing confidential support and services to victims of sexual assault. If you or someone you know needs assistance regarding a sexual assault, they are here to help you. Other resources available to you are: SAPR Victim Advocates (VAs) within the units, and the Installation VAs. Every battalion/squadron has at least two trained and assigned VAs who are ready to support and assist sexual assault victims. Rest assured that your discussion with any VA is confidential.

Available 24/7, Family Advocacy Victim Advocates are nationally certified to assist victims of abuse. They work with victims to assist with ongoing safety planning and protection orders, to provide referrals to military and civilian shelters and to advocate with commands on behalf of victims. Victim Advocates will accompany victims during medical examinations, to court or to social services and provide a supportive presence during the delivery of services.

Service members who are 12-14 months from the End of Active Service (EAS), or Marines who are one to two years away from retirement, must attend TRS. TRS provides information on such topics as career, employment, education and training benefits, health and life insurance programs, financial planning and more. To attend TRS, service members must visit their command Unit Transition Coordinator (UTC). Spouses are welcome to attend either workshop with prior registration.

Twilight Dunes RV Park came into existence in May 1999 when MCAGCC Housing transferred half of the spaces used for Mobile Living to MCCS for recreational use.

The park has 83 spaces available to eligible patrons. Carports and barns are also available. Each site includes hook ups for electricity, water, server, telephone and cable TV.* Mail services are available. Pets are welcome inside the park and must be in compliance with Marine Corps Order P11000.22. Convenient resources are nearby such as a barber, laundromat and market items at the MCX Marine Mart.

The park offers daily and monthly rates. Extensions are granted by priority of the RV Park SOP. Any occupants not stationed at MCAGCC on military orders relocate to new spaces annually.

Pets are allowed in the RV Park. It is the owner's responsibility to ensure that the pet is under control at all times and that all health and safety rules are followed. Owners are encouraged to walk their pets in the open area adjacent to the park. Please clean up after your pets as soon as possible.

Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Base Veterinary Treatment Facility is professionally staffed by Army Veterinary Corps personnel with the primary mission of providing complete veterinary care for all government-owned animals.

The Army-run clinic is the place to go for examinations and vaccinations for your pets. All pets in base housing must be micro-chipped, which can be done here. All pets living on post must be registered with the VTF upon arrival. On-Post Housing may limit the number and breed of pets that can live in on-post housing. Contact on-post housing for more information.

Due to limited manpower and resources, most veterinary emergency cases are best served through a full service civilian veterinary hospital.

Available 24/7, Family Advocacy Victim Advocates are nationally certified to assist victims of abuse. They work with victims to assist with ongoing safety planning and protection orders, to provide referrals to military and civilian shelters and to advocate with commands on behalf of victims. Victim Advocates will accompany victims during medical examinations, to court or to social services and provide a supportive presence during the delivery of services.

The Warrior Athletic Readiness & Resiliency (WARR) / High Intensity Tactical Training (HITT)/ and Total Force Fitness (TFF) program’s primary purpose is to enhance operational fitness levels and optimize combat readiness and resiliency for the active duty and reservist Marine. They include a methodology for understanding, assessing, programming, and maintaining Service members’ well-being and sustaining their ability to carry out missions. Together, these programs bring a professional and Division I level strength and conditioning program to the USMC. With workouts designated Athlete, Warrior, Marine, Combat, Reload, and Aqua HITT, the programs address speed, power, agility, strength, mobility, and endurance to create a complete warrior athlete.

The West Gym offers a co-ed sauna and steam room, gymnasium, rock climbing cave, hypoxic training chamber and two cardio rooms. Cardio rooms include treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers and a variety of stationary bikes. The West Gym also offers Keiser equipment equipped with pneumatic technology. The outdoor turf area is capable of supporting individual and small Unit PT sessions, providing a variety of outdoor fitness equipment including platforms, racks, ropes, sleds and everything you need for aerobic, agility, strength and power workouts. West Gym is open to active duty, dependents and all authorized patrons. Semper Fit welcomes authorized patrons of all abilities. Wilburn Gym is an elite strength and conditioning facility capable of providing to the beginner to the Elite level athlete. It features a powerlifting area with full and half racks, Keiser equipment equipped with pneumatic technology, an Olympic lifting area and Hammer Strength plate loaded equipment. It also offers a strongman area with log bars, yokes, sleds and atlas stones. An indoor turf area provides an ideal environment for developing speed, endurance and agility. Wilburn Gym houses a variety of cardio equipment, including manual powered ellipticals and treadmills, assault bikes, rowers and high speed treadmills capable of 30+mph and 40 degree inclines. To assist in the readiness and recovery efforts, Wilburn Gym has various options for myofascial release, stretching bands and Pneumex vibration platforms. Wilburn can accommodate individual, small group and Unit PT when coordinated with Warrior Athlete.

Wilburn Gym also houses our VirTra system, capable of providing real world, interactive virtual shooting simulations as well as our vision performance lab equipped with SENAPTEC technology. Wilburn Gym is open to active duty, dependents and all authorized patrons.

In a self-directed environment we assist our patrons with learning skills which will last a lifetime. They include framing, engraving and woodworking which are taught through instructional classes and lessons.

The Wood Hobby Shop provides low-cost laser engraving services to imprint unique messages and designs onto almost any surface. We have Epilog CO2 Laser Engraving Systems. This great laser engraver can engrave, cut or mark on many different materials. If you can print a design, you can engrave it!

MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE?

We have all the wood and tools you need to make entertainment centers, plaques, shadow boxes, cutting boards, shelves and more! With just a minimal fee of $3.00 per hour for the use of the shop and tools, you can get right to being creative! Patrons can also purchase woodworking supplies and lumber to build or repair woodwork, craft and hobby items. We offer a great selection of tools and power equipment to satisfy any level of woodworker. Experienced staff members are on hand to assist you with your project, and lumber is available at the facility for purchase. Clean up starts 30 minutes before closing.

Please call for current pricing and selection information. Patrons must attend a FREE 60 min safety class prior to using this facility. The classes are held every Saturday at 11am and Wednesday at 5pm. Safety classes are not required for patrons wanting laser engraving only.

MCCS Youth Sports offers great programs from instructional to competitive to more than 1500 youth ages 4 to 17.
