Any military spouse or eligible individual 18 years or older who lives in base housing or approved off-base housing can apply. Providers must complete training, background checks, and home inspections to become licensed.
FCC providers run their own home-based business, set their own hours, care for their own children while earning income, receive free training and resources, and participate in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program.
Children must be between 6 weeks and 12 years old, have up-to-date immunizations, and meet health and safety requirements. Families must register through MilitaryChildCare.com or their local Resource & Referral (R&R) office.
FCC provides home-based care in smaller groups, offering more personalized attention, flexible hours, and a family-like setting compared to larger Child Development Centers (CDCs).
