National Custodian Appreciation Day
They work while we sleep. Sometimes we walk around them in the halls not always “seeing” them or their work as important. That’s why we love this day, National Custodian Day, which rolls around every October 2. It recognizes the hard work that it takes to keep our public facilities in tip-top shape as well as the people who diligently work to make sure we have schools and workplaces that are spotless and sanitary.
Custodians are our first line of defense when it comes to the war on germs and often, it’s a thankless task. So, on National Custodian Day, please show your appreciation to the custodians who clean the office buildings or schools that you frequent. As far we’re concerned, custodians are the hardest-working people and deserve to be recognized more than one day a year.
WHY WE LOVE NATIONAL CUSTODIAN DAY
- It gives us a chance to show our appreciation
Being a custodian is sometimes a thank less job. That’s why it’s important on National Custodian Day to take the time to show your appreciation to the custodians you know. We get to reap the benefits of their hard work on a near daily basis, so it’s about time we thank them for all that they do. - It encourages us to be a little extra clean
On a typical day, we may not notice we accidentally throw a paper towel on the floor or leave a plastic water bottle behind on a table, but that changes on National Custodian Day. When we stop and remember that someone has to come and clean up after the mess we make, there’s a good chance we’ll put forth a little extra effort to tidy up after ourselves. - It makes us pay attention to the little things
Having a restroom stocked with soap and toilet paper may be something that’s taken for granted on a daily basis. National Custodian Day makes us stop and appreciate these little details. The next time you walk through the office and notice that the ground isn’t littered with staples and small scraps of paper, remember that a custodian was there taking care of the mess for you!

Aloha families! As we move towards the holiday season, keep an eye out on our special events calendar for fun events to join. Please communicate with your child’s caregiver so they are aware of what holidays you may or may not celebrate. We strive to be respectful of everyone’s culture, beliefs, preferences, etc. while making our events a fun and enjoyable experience for all.
A reminder that if you need to update any of your phone numbers (work, home, cell), address, emails or emergency contacts, please let the front desk know and they can assist you in getting the information documented on your forms.
You will notice many new faces here at the center as we are always actively recruiting and hiring new child care workers. They look forward to getting to know you and your child!
Don’t forget, we require 2-weeks notice if you will be removing your child from the program. Withdrawal forms are available at the front desk.
