Classes and workshops are available through the Family Advocacy Program (FAP). The classes and workshops are designed to help you build healthy relationships and stronger communties.

Healthy relationship education class for you. Topics include: Your relationship vision; relationship safety (physical/emotional/commitment); “sliding v. deciding”(making clear decisions); problem behaviors; “smart love” principles; examining your relationship; impact of family background; expectations; communication danger signs; hidden issues; time-outs; assertive communication; forgiveness; “playing v. staying” (commitment); utilizing social support; should I stay or go; and overcoming relationship goals.
Triple P: The Power of Positive Parenting
The Triple P system helps enhance the knowledge, skills and confidence of parents with the intent to prevent severe behavioral, emotional and developmental problems in children. Seminar is composed of 3 different parts. Seminar 1) The Power of Positive Parenting (includes information on a variety of discipline techniques to include time-outs; guided discussion; and logical consequences); Seminar 2) Confident, Competent Children; and Seminar 3) Raising Resilient Children (emotional intelligence).
Married and Loving It
This is a couples’ workshop that teaches the fundamentals of a relationship/marriage. Topics include basic communication; finances; conflict and anger management; and everyday decisions (i.e. division of household labor; boundaries with extended family members).
Warrior Maintenance: Stress Management for Marines and Families
This is a stress management course for service members, retirees, and family members. The curriculum covers the following topics: Adjusting your thinking, external factors impacting stress, the mind, connection and communication, resilience, healthy habits, and staying on track. The curriculum is designed to educate you about the most effective strategies used to manage controllable and uncontrollable stressors, whether you are ready to start using healthy coping strategies or just obtain information. The goal is to help you move from one behavior changing stage such as pre-contemplation or contemplation to planning, ready or maintenance stages.
Century Anger Management
This course explores 8 tools that help you manage anger. The goal is to teach you how to accurately examine triggers and perceptions of situations, and learn healthy, constructive ways to express your frustrations. Topics covered include stress management; empathy; respond v. react; self-talk; assertive communication; adjusting expectations; forgiveness; and time-out.
